What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

This position will be responsible for managing the centrifuge lab, checking, repairing, and maintaining all instrumentation, mentoring graduate and undergraduate student researchers working in the centrifuge, brainstorming and conducting experiments under the supervision of Associate Professor Shideh Dashti and Assistant Research Professor Brad Wham. This role will also be conducting numerical simulations of embankments on liquefied soils, journal articles, and assisting in preparation of proposals with the co-directors of the centrifuge lab.

What You Should Know

CEAE is seeking temporary professionals to support research or program administration. These roles are filled on an as-needed basis for up to 9 to 12 months.

What We Can Offer

Compensation range is between $20 - $22 per hour and will be paid bi-weekly. This position is eligible for overtime. The rate of over-time pay is one and one-half (1 ½) times the regular hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week. Temporary staff may only work overtime with prior supervisory approval. Failure to receive advance, preferably written, approval may result in termination.

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience to the nature of the role.
